Afghanistan is the only country in the world where girls and women are banned from secondary and university education. Over 3.7 million children are out of school—60% of them are girls.
The Taliban's restrictions have banned women from working, traveling without a male guardian, and even letting their voices be heard in public. Healthcare has collapsed, with 80% of health facilities at risk of shutdown. 12.4 million people face food insecurity.
